Choosing a celebration venue in Diest: where to start
Organising a celebration becomes easier once you know three things: who you are inviting, how you want to celebrate together and how much time you need. Choose the space after that, rather than the other way round. At Prins Van Oranje, you can request a party or reception with the function room, catering and any hotel rooms that suit your plans. A clear initial enquiry helps the hotel explore suitable options.

Start with your guests and the type of celebration
A reception needs a different layout from a dinner or a party with a full programme. Note whether guests will mainly be sitting, moving around or eating together. Include the expected numbers of adults and children.
Mention anything that needs extra space, such as music, a presentation or your own decorations. The chosen room needs to suit the whole programme. The available capacity for your layout is confirmed in the proposal.
Be clear about your preferred hire period
State not only when the party starts, but also when you want to prepare and when everything needs to be finished. Set-up and clearing away form part of the arrangements for using the room. A musician or supplier may need a separate arrival time.
A longer party or use of additional spaces is a separate choice. Discuss this in advance. Options for late hours depend on the hire arrangements chosen and, where applicable, hire of the entire hotel; do not assume this is possible without confirmation.
Discuss who will provide the catering
State whether you would like catering by Prins Van Oranje, will arrange your own catering or would still like to discuss it. If you arrange your own catering, services such as kitchen use, crockery, washing-up and cleaning may need to be considered separately.
Have the quotation specify which elements are part of your choice. A party catered by the hotel needs different arrangements from hiring only a space. Provide allergy information and dietary requirements in good time, and have the arrangements that can be provided confirmed.
Plan hotel rooms and weddings separately
If you would like guests to stay overnight, state how many rooms you have in mind and the occupancy of each. A function room or restaurant request does not automatically reserve hotel rooms. The rooms available and the conditions of the confirmed hotel rate are arranged separately.
Weddings have their own enquiry process. You can state whether you would like to celebrate indoors or in the garden, what support you need and whether you are using your own suppliers. A standard party enquiry therefore does not need to include every wedding requirement.
Ask for the full proposal first
Look beyond a single venue price to the breakdown of hire, catering, drinks, extra services and any overnight accommodation. Applicable VAT and the payment and cancellation arrangements are confirmed before you agree.
Your online enquiry sets out your requirements. No space is reserved and no payment is charged at this stage. Use the confirmed quotation as the basis for next steps, such as invitations, suppliers and the final programme.
What to include in your enquiry
- Type of celebration, date and expected guest numbers
- Start, finish, set-up and clearing away
- Catering, drinks and any suppliers you are arranging
- Preferred spaces and any hotel rooms required
Put your plans into action
Request your party or receptionAvailability, the full price and arrangements are confirmed before you agree. A request does not reserve a hotel room or function room.
